RCEP effect! Shenzhen ushered in the country's first import goods

  The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) entered into force on January 1 this year.   The RCEP is a free trade agreement with the largest population, largest economic scale and the greatest development potential in the world. Since its signing, it has drawn much attention from all sectors of society and is expected to inject strong impetus into regional development and global economic growth. Under the RCEP framework, China and Japan reached bilateral tariff concessions for the first time, and this is the first time that China has signed a free trade agreement with one of the world's top 10 economies.

  The effective implementation of the RCEP will further promote economic and trade exchanges among member states, complement each other's strengths, and form a closer and more stable supply chain, which is of great significance to China's opening-up at a higher level.

  Chen Guogang, director of customs affairs at Shenzhen Jiuli Supply Chain Co LTD, said the imported goods were worth 1.33 million yuan, saving about 6,000 yuan in customs duties. In the first year when RCEP came into force, the import tariff rate of Reflection film made in Japan was reduced from 6.5% to 6.1%, which is expected to save 500,000 yuan of tax every year. According to the arrangement, the tariff will be reduced to zero gradually in the future, and enterprises will increase imports according to the tariff reduction, which is expected to bring 20% growth this year. The tax reduction of relevant raw material parts will release more capital dividends and provide new opportunities for the industry to strengthen r&d, development and upgrading.

  According to the "Transitional provisions for Goods in Transit" in the RCEP rules of origin, goods of origin that are in transit when the RCEP takes effect can still enjoy preferential tariff treatment as long as the importer makes a valid application within 180 days, said Zeng Yunjin, deputy director of the Customs Office of Shenzhen Customs. This batch of goods will enjoy RCEP preferential policies after obtaining the CERTIFICATE of origin.

  Shenzhen Customs also pushes the latest RCEP information to enterprises through the "Internet + Customs" and the single window for international trade, so as to "highlight" enterprises. We will collect the demand for key enterprises to apply for blank RCEP documents in advance and issue them in advance. Meanwhile, we will make comprehensive assessments of the range of tariff concessions in RCEP and other free trade agreements to help enterprises fully enjoy the dividends of tariff concessions.
