Endangered furniture down

According to the risk control instruction, the customs officer of Haihai and Zhuhai inspected a batch of imported luggage named "furniture". The inspectors found 23 pieces of furniture, weighing 766.4 kilograms, were made of wood, including sofa benches, short chairs, coffee tables, low cabinets and wardrobes. This batch of wooden furniture is purplish red in appearance, hard in texture and beautifully carved, giving off a light sour taste and surface texture similar to the endangered plant "black acid branch". On-site customs staff according to the provisions of the batch of furniture to professional organizations for identification. The above - mentioned furniture was identified as black acid branch products of legume genus.

Black acid branches mainly grow in tropical areas, mostly produced in Southeast Asian countries, East Africa and Indonesia and other places, the heartwood is chestnut brown, because of its natural acid fragrance, and the wood has obvious black stripes, so it is called "black acid branches". The growth cycle of melanic acid branchlets lasts for hundreds of years, and the number of melanic acid branchlets has been sharply reduced due to being regarded as valuable rosewood. It is listed as a protected species in appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
China is a party to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and controls the import and export of endangered wild plants and their products listed in the Appendix to the Convention. No entity or individual shall import endangered wild plants and their products by way of freight, mail, express or passenger transport without obtaining the import and export permit certificate and other materials issued by the relevant administrative departments of the state. If the violation is serious enough to constitute a crime, criminal responsibility will be investigated according to law.
